ISLAMABAD: Around 160 families, including over 1,200 temporarily displaced persons (TDP), are on their way back to their hometowns in South Waziristan Agency (SWA) from various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the rehabilitation process entered its third phase. Meanwhile, all arrangements for the return of TDPs to SWA have been completed. Over 300 families have already returned to their hometowns in the last two days. So far, over 30,000 displaced families from 39 villages of Makeen, Ladha, Sararogha, Sarwakai and Tiarza areas have made it back to their hometowns. Two separate desks have been established to register TDPs in a systematic manner. Each family will receive a cash amount of Rs 35,000 as a compensation package and Rs 10,000 as transport fare. They will also receive food assistance for six months. According to a statement released by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor House in Peshawar, Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra personally supervised the rehabilitation process.
