ISLAMABAD :Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police have arrested an extortionist and recovered an iPhone 6, snatched from a Chinese national. A police spokesman giving detail of the incident said the accused was rounded up from the jurisdiction of Bhara Kahu Police Station by a special team formed after a Arshad Salim’s complaint of being demanded Rs 20 million as extortion money. The special team arrested Faisal Nawaz alias Fasi of Kot Hathyal Bhara Kahu. The accused is a permanent resident of Muqam-e-hayat, Sargodha City and is an artist, he informed. The accused was also engaged in property business and had been paying visits at the residence of the complainant Arshad. During preliminary investigation, the accused Faisal also revealed that he had snatched an expensive mobile phone from a Chinese National from Blue Area, which the culprit was using for extortion messages. The Chinese national has also registered an FIR against the culprit. Eight outlaws held, hashish, ornaments recovered: Police have arrested eight outlaws and recovered stolen motorcycle (bike), gold ornaments, 1.150 kilogram hashish and stolen property from their possession. A police spokesman on Saturday said that Secretariat Police apprehended two bike lifters Majid and Faryad and recovered stolen bike from their possession. Banigala Police arrested an accused Riaz involved in illegal sale of petroleum products. Man held for using embassy’s number plate: The Golra Sharif Police have booked a man for displaying registration number of the Brazilian Embassy on his car. Ahtisham Mazhar was allegedly using the number plate of the embassy, police said, adding that Mazhar had bought the car from the embassy during an auction, however, he did not replace the number plate.
