ISLAMABAD: Samsung offers refund or exchange to Pakistani owners of the ‘fiery’ Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. “Galaxy Note 7 was not officially launched in Pakistan but all customers who pre-booked the phone are requested to contact the relevant retailers to get a refund,” a statement on the manufacturer’s official website said. “Everyone with a Galaxy Note 7 is requested to back up their data and switch off the device.” The gadget manufacturer has offered two options for the Pakistani users to get rid of the smartphone. “Replace Galaxy Note7 with a Galaxy S7 edge and get a refund of PKR 10,000 or obtain complete refund,” the statement revealed. For Samsung, the scale of the recall is immense and deals a huge blow on its reputation. Around 2.5 million devices have been sold worldwide and now, need to be recalled. Some analysts say the recall could cost Samsung nearly $5 billion loss in revenue this year.
