LAHORE: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced on Thursday that no political party of the name Milli Muslim League (MML) is registered with it and it has not alloted any election symbol to such a party. It said Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob is actually registered as an independent candidate for NA-120 Lahore by-poll. Meanwhile, the commission also issued a notice to Yaqoob for using photographs of Jamaatud Dawa leadership on his campaign banners and posters displayed across the constituency. ECP also said that Yaqoob, who has been allotted the election symbol of an energy saver light bulb, is misleading the people by using the name of Milli Muslim League in the banners put up in the constituency for his election campaign. ECP restricted Yaqoob from using the name of the political party and urged the returning officer of NA-120 Lahore to take lawful action against him.
