KARACHI: The Pakistan Post Office (PPO) issued a commemorative postage stamp to honor the auspicious occasion of HBL’s 75th anniversary. The postage stamp worth Rs. 8 denomination will be available for sale at all post offices of Pakistan. The history of HBL is tantamount to the history of the banking industry in Pakistan. HBL was the first commercial bank to be established for the Muslims of the Indo-Pak subcontinent in 1941 and today, it is the largest global bank in the country. HBL’s inception has been inextricably linked with the story of Pakistan and consequently, it has always been an institution that has played a significant role in the nation’s economic progress. The Pakistan Post also issued commemorative stamps for HBL’s Silver and Golden jubilees as well. With the release of the Platinum Jubilee stamp, HBL continues the tradition of issuing special stamps for every milestone anniversary of HBL.
