KARACHI – The Sindh government Friday demanded the centre to announce the ninth National Finance Commission (NFC) award, saying it faces an annual deficit worth Rs 500 million. In a letter written to Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Senator Ishaq Dar, provincial finance minister Murad Ali Shah that said four working groups were formed in the NFC’s meeting, which was held last April. But neither any meeting of the working groups of four provinces was convened so far, nor any recommendations regarding new NFC award were received from them, the letter read.
