LAHORE: Former Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has said that the PPP does not want to derail the democracy but the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has put democracy at stake to save its government.
Addressing the party workers on Sunday, he said that the PPP had always rendered sacrifices for the development of democracy and even its founding Chairman Zulifqar Ali Bhutto preferred execution for the political and democratic rights of the people.
He said that before coming into power, “royal leadership of PML-N” made promises with the people to end power outages and gas load shedding but it could not fulfil even one of its single pledges.
