The clash gets real between two generations of music

Published on: August 25, 2016 10:00 PM

KARACHI: Pakistan’s two music icons Ali Azmat and Umair Jaswal, representing two generations of music, are all set to settle their differences once and for all by taking part in the Red Bull Soundclash tomorrow at the Expo Centre, Karachi.

This is no ordinary event but a clash that will put Ali Azmat and Umair Jaswal on two stages facing each other with the crowd in the middle to decide the winner at the end of each round. In what is being termed as the ‘Clash of Generations’, yesteryears’ rockstar Azmat will face today’s music sensation Jaswal in a never-seen before clash in Pakistan. Both performers, known for their uniqueness, versatility and powerful vocals, will go head-to-head for four rounds to prove their mettle.

In the first round, both Jaswal and Azmat will play a cover version of their famous song in their trademark style. The second round will feature Azmat playing one of his hits, with Jaswal taking over in the middle and finishing the song his own way. In the third round, both Jaswal and Azmat will play their own songs in three different styles, while in the final round, Azmat and Jaswal will play one more song together with an invited musician/special guest of their choice.

Both Azmat and Jaswal enjoy a strong wave of support from fans across Pakistan but there will only be one winner tomorrow.

Red Bull Soundclash is a friendly rivalry, a musical conversation between two powerful entertainers, who will perform on two stages positioned opposite to each other with the audience in between. Soundclash has successfully been executed in many countries including Egypt, Jordon, Germany and Lebanon to name a few. This is the first time that Pakistani audience will be exposed to this one-of-a-kind clash where they will get to see best music acts from two different generations battling it out to win the ultimate clash of generations.
