Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Tuesday brushed off rumors that Prime Minister Imran Khan refused to meet him, and said that no meeting was scheduled with the premier. He was talking to the media after meeting the victims of a building collapse incident in Bhati Gate Lahore. He also announced an assistance of Rs 500,000 for the victim family from the Sarwar Foundation. Speaking on the occasion, Sarwar said the life of the poor was as valuable as that of the elite. “Rights of poor will be given in New Pakistan. Pakistan will prosper during the government of Imran Khan,” he said, and added that the previous rulers only looted and plundered resources of Pakistan. “Imran Khan is changing the fate of Pakistan by working hard.” Earlier, provincial ministers Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, Syed Samsam Bukhari and Hafiz Mumtaz met Sarwar at the Governor’s House.
