The matriculation board exams proved to be even more stressful for students across Sindh on Monday as they faced great difficulty in reaching their respective centres. There was no proper guide to get to the examination hall.
A student of Nasra School, Muhammad Huzaifa, said that he arrived at the centre one an a half hour after his paper was supposed to start: 9 am.
“It might be a loss of my Biology paper which I attempted,” he added. Huzaifa further cried that a proper address of the area along with the examination centre should be given.
Many applicants complained the government was supposed to take action against the inaction of Karachi Board in this regard. They suggested that if they had received the proper address, there wouldn’t have been any inconvenience.
Students arriving late at exam centres, not a new issue: parents
Many parents noted that children getting to the centres late was not a new issue.
Abdullah Riaz, who passed his exams, said that he did not have any problem in reaching the examination hall. He added he had already visited and searched the area a day earlier.
“We must visit a day before to check the classroom and ask the authorized person of the centre as well”, he maintained.
According to sources in Korangi, many teachers of Government Boys School were involved in the provision of cheating material to students.
On the other hand, Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali spent his day visiting examination centres in Karachi. During his visit to the Matric examination centre in Lyari, he suspended School Principle Masood Rathore. This was done when he observed inadequate provisions at the school. Ali was flanked by constituency member of Provincial Assembly, Syed Abdul Rasheed. “Board should have arranged the fans,” he added.
The minister also caught students cheating on exams at Govt School PECHS while warning the invigilator that such carelessness would not be tolerated.
While talking to media sources, Ali remarked that today, the management was better than that last year. He encouraged the provision of better facilities and expressed anger at missing electricity and fans. He further added he would do his best to remove cheating in the examination halls by next year.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also took notice of the leaked paper.
