KARACHI: Police on Thursday rearrested an accused who made his escape a few days ago in an injured condition by escaping en route to the Azizabad Police Station.
SP Bashir Brohi said that the accused who has been identified as Jaffer is involved in several heinous crimes including attacking the police. He was arrested while trying to escape to Punjab today,” he added.
On Jan 20, DIG Sindh AD Khawaja had sought an inquiry from the DIG West over the incident.
Sources have informed that the investigation and operation wings of the police had jointly carried out the operation and arrested Jaffer. The raiding teams have been awarded appreciation certificates by the DIG West.
Meanwhile, Additional IG Sanaullah Abbasi visited different areas of PIB Colony to review the current situation of the drug menace.
Locals informed the IG that the situation in the sales and usage drugs has improved as drug dens have been closed in the area by the police.
In this connection, the area people appreciated the performance of SHO PIB Police Station Safdar Mashwani.
The Additional IG announced a cash reward for the SHO for his efforts to control crimes in the locality.
