LAHORE: The funeral prayers for famous writer Bano Qudsia, who passed away on Saturday, were offered in Lahore on Sunday.
Her funeral prayers were offered in Model Town at 3.00 pm on Sunday.
Wife of eminent Urdu and Punjabi writer late Ashfaq Ahmed, Bano Qudsia, 88, passed away in a hospital after prolonged illness. She was under treatment over the past 10 days.
Born in 1928 in Ferozpur, Punjab, British India. Bano migrated to Pakistan after the partition of India.
She is one of the most renowned female writers of Pakistan. Most famously known for her masterpiece novel ‘Raja Gidh’, Bano Qudsia has more than two dozen literary novels, short story collections and Dramas to her credit.
Bano Qudsia has introduced a unique style of writing involving human emotions, psychology and scientific principles into a single genre. She also wrote for television and stage in both the Urdu and Punjabi languages. Her play Aadhi Baat is a classic.
