With his distinctive hairstyle and facial expressions, US President Donald Trump has been likened to everything from a corn on the cob to the bully from the Back to the Future films.
Now a poisonous, yellow-skinned tropical fish in a shopping centre aquarium has drawn the latest comparison.
Steve Collins photographed the ‘Trumpfish’ while visiting Sea Life at Manchester’s Trafford Centre with his three sons, aged nine, eight, and three, and sister Marie, 37.
The 32-year-old dustman said he “couldn’t stop laughing” when he saw the fish’s uncanny resemblance, which included protuberances from its forehead just like Trump’s quiff, and a puckered expression similar to that often borne by the business mogul-turned politician.
In fact, the fish is a Longhorn Cowfish, usually a resident of undersea reefs in the Indian and Pacific Oceans and which makes a grunting noise when captured.
It excretes a poison in mucus form which can be deadly to enemies and predators. Collins said, “It was immediately apparent to me that the fish looked like Donald Trump. To be honest I don’t take much interest in American politics but you seem to see pictures of Donald Trump everywhere. I agree with some of the things he does and disagree with others. But when I saw the fish I just couldn’t stop laughing.”
