How to Develop Self-Confidence and Influence People by Public Speaking is a well-written book by the renowned author Dale Carnegie. The book contains several essential information and motivational tools that assist people to lead a more courageous, happier and fruitful life by bringing out the “real” talented qualities they possess.

The book’s different chapters offer hundreds of practical and valuable steps on how to influence the important people in our lives. It points out ways of developing poise, gaining self-confidence, improving memory, and how to begin and end a discussion, while keeping the audience attracted; improve diction and winning an argument without making foes.

For multiple decades, the author’s name has been synonymous to public speaking and interpersonal skills. Carnegie’s philosophy has spread throughout the globe and his book titled, Public Speaking and Influencing Men in Business is still used as textbook in public speaking classes. This book sold 600,000 copies in the last ten years, and the total sale of the hand-cover edition is almost over 1,000,000 copies. It has been published in twenty languages and thousands of copies were sold in foreign editions.

The book’s information has also been tested and utilised successfully by more than a million students in the world-famous Dale Carnegie course in effective speaking and human relationships. The book offers wise rules about overcoming fear; a paralysing feeling that stops a person from achieving their goals.

Carnegie believed that public speaking helped people to be more energetic and confident. The book offers guidelines on how to develop the necessary courage and strength to face an audience confidently, without any sign of nervousness. To inspire the audience, Carnegie suggested beginning the conversation with an inspirational story, a relevant quote or some “shocking facts.”

The development of self-confidence comes under improvement of memory through preparation, repetition for gaining, platform, presence personality, open and close a conversation, development of courage to be brave and energetic, turning discouragements into encouragements by eradication of nervousness, killing the ignorance and harsh tunes and to discuss and train yourself to speak effectively for knowing your dreams and aims of your life.

These motivational tools of wisdom help students and people to achieve their “real” selected goals and how to influence people through confidence.

This book inspired me with its extremely positive messages of motivating and encouraging people to fulfil their full potential and gain the confidence required to be a successful public speaker -and as a result win friends and influence.

The powerful impact of well-done oratory can be highlighted with unforgettable examples of iconic personalities like Professor William James, Lincoln, Luther Burbank, Thomas Edison and Shakespeare.
