Ali Gul Pir’s recreation of viral Pakistani photos is the funniest thing on the Internet lately

Published on: April 28, 2018 7:26 PM

The famous stand-up comedian, actor and rapper Ali Gul Pir is back with a parody that has everyone’s stomachs in knots.. His latest satire is a recreation of viral photographs that are directed at the Pakistani media industry.

His project has taken the country by storm.

The witty “Saeen tou Saeen” singer first took to Twitter and shared that he would be recreating a few “absurd and controversial or just silly” photos with the help of photographer, Jaffer Hasan.

Every now n then Pakistani Fashion industry does a photoshoot thats either absurd, controversial or just silly. Some photos r not from the fashion industry but have gone viral for diff reasons. So I thought I’d be great to recreate em in a funny way with photographer Jaffer Hasan

Ali started by taking a shot at the fashion industry and its peculiar ideas. He attempted to hilariously recreate controversial photograph of the Pakistani model, Sadaf Kanwal which did not sit well with the public and was termed as ‘obscene’. In the photo that Ali shared, he is wearing a white shirt just like Sadaf’s and a gardener is pouring water over his head from a pipe. Taking a dig at the soul crushing summer in Pakistan, he captioned his photo, “When it’s hot and the gardener is free.”

Here is the first one! I call it “When it’s hot and the gardener is free” Sadaf Kanwal and I look equally sexy. Thankfully I wore a bunyaan (undershirt) so you can’t see too much #fashion #recreated #pakistan #comedy pic.twitter.com/UQk4YmIr02

Subsequently, Ali recreated a designer’s most recent fashion campaign that got a lot of criticism for using ‘non-white’ people as props. The original advertisement displayed an African holding an umbrella for a model. The comedian upturned the situation and held an umbrella for an African person, entailing that the person who is holding the umbrella feels hot as much as the person under it.

Some Fashion people came to Dadu and said we want to do a photoshoot with the indegenious people of Dadu. I volunteered, so they told me to hold the umbrella and do the heatstroke pose. Clothes are by #SanaSafoora – clothing shop in Safoora Goth.

Ali has also picked up the Hocane sisters photo and took it to a new level with his creative troll. Music composer,Taimoor Salahuddin, commonly known as Mooroo, made a guest appearance, recreating an incredibly humorous version of an incredibly pointless picture. He captioned it: “Just a regular Tuesday with my bro, cuz if Hoecan then we can too.” The hashtags that accompanied left everyone in fits.

Sometimes after showering @Mooroo4 and I sit for tea and then hug. Just a regular Tuesday with my bro, cuz if Hoecan then We can too #HotTea #ColdShower #Comedy #recreate pic.twitter.com/uvtG6Qxd2G

The rapper, then did a recreation of Mahira and Ranbir’s controversial photo from last year. It was directed at those who lost it over Mahira Khan sharing a smoke with Ranbir Kapoor and issued special fatwas (Islamic law) on somebody’s private affair.

I have 2 titles for this one “Jaldi peelay, Abu na ajain” AND. “7 min charas in” #comedy #popculture pic.twitter.com/qAujMTZk8B

The 32 year made an effort to increase awareness through his photos and discuss the important issue of child labor and how our fashion industry needs to educate itself. He paired a photo of him giving a child a piggyback ride next to a photo of a model where the child is shown as a servant.

Other recreated photos by the “Wadere Ka Beta” are of the highly popular blue-eyed Chai wala, Ayesha Omar and another fashion/ beauty campaigns. Ali Gul Pir’s sequence of these photos will be remembered for a long time.
