SHIKARPUR: The police heaved a sigh of relief as law and order returns to the city through determined and persistent ‘clean-up’ operations against criminals and terrorists.
A report was issued by the police department, as SSP Tanveer Hussain Tunio has been appointed to the district of Shikarpur.
At least 1186 raids and 122 encounters were conducted that killed two criminals and injured 20.
20 gangs were busted including a network of drug peddlers and bootleggers. The police arrested 1700 suspects including 78 drug pushers, 237 gamblers.
Large amount of drugs were recovered from their possession.
Moreover, 15 Kalashnikovs, 4 repeating rifles, 26 pistols, 36 shotguns, 8 riffles, 2500 rounds of bullets were recovered.
87 Stolen Motorcycles, two Rickshaws and 26 Cell Phones were also seized by the police.
Katcha area was sealed off to restrict the infiltration of criminals towards the city.
