GUJRANWALA: Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sohail Ahmed Tipu was found dead at his residence on Thursday.
According to Additional Medical Superintendent (AMS) Dr Gulzar, Tipu’s dead body was found hanging from a fan.
“His (Tipu) tied hands indicate that he may not have attempted to take his own life,” Dr Gulzar said. He further said that it seemed like a rope or wire was twisted twice around Tipu’s neck.
Final opinion on the cause of the death will be given after the forensic analysis.
Tipu was appointed as a deputy commissioner on December 11, 2017. He is survived by three daughters and a son.
A first information report (FIR) of the incident has been registered at a local police station.
