ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said he was willing to be part of a dialogue with everyone on board to uphold the supremacy of the constitution.
Sharif in an informal conversation with media officials outside the accountability court stated that he didn’t have any issues with any of the state institutions. He added that the propositions for his name on Exit Control List (ECL) were being given, with no acknowledgement to his services towards Pakistan.
Nawaz added that the reason behind the filing of supplementary references against him was still undisclosed and the people of Pakistan hadn’t accepted the verdict of his disqualification from public office.
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, stating his rallies of Minar-e-Pakistan had now shrunk to streets. He added that Pakistan’s economy had been uplifted in the past five years.
The accountability court rejected Sharif’s exemption plea from case proceedings of Avenfield reference case owing to his wife’s ill health. Defense counsel of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz , Khawaja Harris and Amjad Pervaiz respectively, had submitted new medical certificates of Kulsoom Nawaz to the court requesting leave for their clients from March 26. The appeal presented names of Ali Aimal and Jahangir Jadoon as representatives of Sharif and Maryam Nawaz in their absence.
However, the plea was rejected later on.
