ITU graduates don’t hunt for jobs: Dr Saif

Published on: April 12, 2017 3:32 AM

LAHORE: Dr Umar Saif, the founding vice chancellor of the Information Technology University (ITU), has said that the varsity is producing job creators and not job seekers.

Addressing an ‘Open House’ here on Tuesday, Dr Saif said, “The ITU caters to students facing financial crunch, as 87% of our students is getting scholarships under a comprehensive programme, while top 10 students have been offered fellow scholarships.”

He said that innovative courses, well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, digital library, state-of-the-art Lincoln Centre and top class faculty differentiated the university from other institutions. The open house was attended by a large number of students, seeking admission to the university, and their parents / guardians. All departmental heads elucidated the salient features of the curriculum on the occasion.

It may be mentioned that the university has the honour to contribute 40% content to the world’s prestigious tech magazine – MIT Technology Review.

The ITU is offering online admissions to bachelor of sciences programmes for computer science and electrical engineering. April 25 is the last day to apply for admission to the courses, while the test will be held on April 30.
