Hajj 2027 registrations cross 51,000 mark

Published on: June 24, 2026 9:06 PM

More than 51,000 people have registered for Hajj 2027 within two days of the launch of the online registration campaign, reflecting strong public interest in the pilgrimage. The Ministry of Religious Affairs said the response highlights growing confidence in Pakistan’s digital Hajj system. Registration remains mandatory for intending pilgrims seeking to participate in the next Hajj season.

According to ministry officials, over 46,000 applicants completed registration through the online portal, while nearly 5,000 used the Pak Hajj mobile application. The figures demonstrate increasing adoption of digital services designed to simplify the registration process and improve accessibility for applicants nationwide.

Data released by the ministry showed that 41,000 applicants opted for the government Hajj scheme, while 10,000 selected the private scheme. Punjab accounted for the largest number of registrations with 24,000 applicants, followed by Sindh with 16,000 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 7,000. Islamabad contributed around 3,000 registrations during the initial phase.

Meanwhile, 800 applicants registered from Balochistan, 260 from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 77 from Gilgit-Baltistan. The ministry said 30,000 men and 21,000 women have completed registration so far. Most applicants belong to the 30-to-48-year age group, indicating strong interest among working-age citizens.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs said it is working with the National Information Technology Board to transform Hajj operations into a fully paperless and end-to-end digital system. Officials added that details regarding Hajj expenses, packages and other arrangements will be announced in the next phase. Prospective pilgrims have been advised to complete their registration within the prescribed deadline to avoid difficulties in later stages.
