Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived in Islamabad on Monday for an official visit amid ongoing regional tensions. The visit comes as Pakistan continues diplomatic efforts to support dialogue between Iran and the United States.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi received Momeni upon his arrival in Pakistan. During his visit, the Iranian official is expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

The visit focuses on bilateral relations and regional developments, according to officials. Momeni is also expected to hold discussions with Pakistani authorities involved in previous mediation efforts between Washington and Tehran.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has been working to revive the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed between the United States and Iran. The agreement was aimed at reducing tensions and supporting a temporary ceasefire between the two sides.
The visit takes place as US and Iranian forces continue exchanging attacks in the region. Washington has expanded strikes on Iranian targets, while Tehran has reported retaliatory actions against US-linked positions.
