Naseem Vicky explains why comedians should focus on comedy

Published on: July 20, 2026 5:45 PM

Pakistani comedian Naseem Vicky has shared his views on acting, saying comedians should continue working in comedy because the genre already includes humour, romance, and action in different forms. However, he believes comedians cannot fully specialise in every type of acting role, making comedy their strongest and most natural field of performance.

Speaking during a television interview, Vicky explained that every acting medium requires a different style and approach from performers. He said theatre, film, and television each have their own unique demands, meaning actors must adjust their facial expressions, body language, and overall performance according to the platform they are working on.

Vicky noted that film actors frequently perform action scenes and adapt their performances for the big screen, while theatre artists rely on stronger expressions and louder voices to connect with live audiences. In contrast, television acting requires subtle emotions and controlled performances because cameras capture even the smallest facial movements.

The veteran comedian stressed that understanding these differences is essential for every actor who wants to succeed across multiple entertainment platforms. He suggested that performers should recognise their strengths and develop skills that best suit their chosen field instead of trying to master every genre at the same time.

Naseem Vicky’s remarks highlighted the importance of respecting the unique demands of different acting formats while recognising comedy as a specialised art that requires its own talent and dedication. His comments also offered insight into the professional discipline needed to build a lasting career in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
