Guard killed in attack on Tanveer Ilyas convoy

A security guard was killed and three people were injured after the convoy of former Azad Jammu and Kashmir prime minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas came under attack. Tanveer Ilyas remained unharmed in the incident.

According to his spokesperson, Tanveer Ilyas was travelling with a convoy of 33 vehicles toward Rawalakot. He was visiting the LA-22 Pachiot constituency as part of his election campaign.

The convoy stopped at Tain Dalkot when the firing incident occurred within the limits of the local police station. Officials said the attack left three people injured, including a security guard.

The injured guard sustained two bullet wounds to the head and was shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. He later died from his injuries, according to officials.

Meanwhile, authorities have started investigating the incident and are collecting details about the circumstances surrounding the attack. Police officials are working to identify those responsible.

The incident occurred during the ongoing election campaign activities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Political activities have increased in the region ahead of the upcoming elections.

Further details about the investigation and the motive behind the attack are expected after authorities complete their initial inquiry. Officials have assured action against those involved.
