A major robbery was reported in Karachi’s Gadap Town after armed robbers allegedly looted gold, silver and other valuables worth millions of rupees from a residential house before fleeing the scene.

According to a complaint submitted by the affected family, the robbers stole approximately 175 tolas of gold valued at around Rs75.8 million, along with 300 tolas of silver worth about Rs2 million. The suspects also took valuable wristwatches, a laptop and children’s belongings during the robbery.

Police said the family informed investigators that eight armed men arrived at the house on four motorcycles. The suspects reportedly entered the residence, held the occupants hostage at gunpoint and carried out the robbery before escaping with the valuables.

Law enforcement officials reached the scene shortly after the incident and launched an investigation. Police are collecting evidence, reviewing available information and working to identify the suspects involved in the robbery.

Following the incident, Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar took notice of the case and sought an immediate report from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir. He directed police authorities to arrest the suspects as soon as possible and recover the stolen property.

The minister also instructed investigators to utilise all available resources to trace those responsible and ensure they are brought to justice. Officials said further updates would be shared as the investigation progresses.

The robbery has raised concerns among residents about security in the area, particularly following reports of increasing criminal activity in some parts of the city. Authorities have assured the public that efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators and strengthen law enforcement measures.

The value of the stolen items has been estimated based on the family’s statement, while authorities continue to verify the details as part of the ongoing investigation. No arrests had been reported at the time of filing the case.
