According to Pakistan’s Interior Ministry, the meeting focused on expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest, with both sides emphasizing the importance of closer coordination to address evolving digital threats. The ministers agreed to enhance cooperation against cybercrime and online financial fraud, which have become growing concerns for countries across the region.

The two officials also discussed launching training and exchange programmes for police officers. The initiative aims to improve professional skills, facilitate knowledge-sharing and strengthen institutional capacity in law enforcement through closer engagement between the two countries.

During the meeting, the ministers exchanged views on the regional security environment, including the recent US-Iran conflict and the broader situation in the Middle East. The discussion highlighted the importance of dialogue and international cooperation in addressing emerging security challenges.

According to the ministry, Salahuddin Ahmed appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan remains committed to strengthening ties with Bangladesh and exploring new opportunities for cooperation in areas of shared interest.

Naqvi also stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir played an important role in supporting regional peace initiatives. He stressed that both countries should continue building stronger relations through practical cooperation and regular engagement.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the United Nations summit held on July 7 and 8, where interior ministers, police chiefs and senior law enforcement officials from around the world gathered to discuss international peace, security and coordinated action against transnational crime.
