Iranian officials have issued defiant responses after US President Donald Trump warned of possible military action against Kharg Island, a key hub for Iran’s oil exports, amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington.

Responding to Trump’s remarks, Iranian parliament’s National Security Committee spokesperson Ebrahim Rezaei declared, “Come, we are waiting for you,” signaling Tehran’s readiness to respond to any military action. His comments reflected Iran’s firm stance as the exchange of warnings between the two countries continued.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also criticized Trump’s rhetoric, saying that using insulting language against the Iranian people would not diminish their dignity or national pride. He said Iran is known for its civilization, culture and strong moral values, adding that the country would respond to hostility with courage, determination and practical action rather than abusive language.

The latest statements came after Trump warned that the United States had carried out military strikes in response to attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and cautioned that any future incidents would trigger an even stronger response. His remarks have further heightened concerns over the possibility of a wider regional confrontation.

Meanwhile, senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mohsen Rezaei, warned that the United States and its allies would face severe consequences if hostilities continued. He said Tehran was prepared to defend its interests against any aggression.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the recent memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States was based on commitments rather than trust. He accused Washington of creating instability in the Strait of Iran issued defiant responses after Trump warned against Kharg Island Hormuz and reaffirmed that Iran would take all necessary measures to safeguard its national interests amid the ongoing diplomatic and military tensions.
