Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem met police personnel and their family members at the Central Police Office. IG Punjab listened to the issues raised by the police employees and their family members and issued immediate directions to the concerned officers for providing prompt relief. According to details, on the transfer request of Sanitary Worker Rameez Masih, IG Punjab directed the DIG SPU to provide relief. On the application submitted by 10 Security Constables regarding the Lower Class Course, directions were issued to the Additional IG Punjab and DIG Legal to place the matter under consideration. On the financial assistance request of Lady Constable Sunbal Arshad, necessary directions were issued to the Additional IG Welfare & Finance. On the application submitted by the widow of Shaheed Sub-Inspector Abdul Hameed regarding the dismissal of the case, the SSP Investigation Lahore was directed to place the matter under consideration. Similarly, on the request of retired Sub-Inspector Arif Ali regarding official accommodation, the AIG Development was directed to provide relief. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem also issued directions on other applications related to discipline, administration, promotion, and welfare complaints. Punjab Police continues to address citizens’ grievances through the 1787 IGP Complaint Centre, and in continuation of these efforts, more than 64,000 complaints received at the Complaint Centre during the current year have been successfully resolved. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, said that complaints received from citizens are being resolved within the prescribed timeline in accordance with the SOPs. He said that the monitoring mechanism has been further strengthened to make the performance of the 1787 IGP Complaint Centre more effective. IG Punjab further said that DPOs are personally monitoring complaints received through the 1787 Complaint System to ensure their prompt resolution. Punjab Police spokesperson said that significant progress has been achieved in resolving complaints of various categories, including 30,644 complaints related to registration of cases and 14,802 complaints regarding delayed investigations. Similarly, 4,674 complaints related to police services and 14,623 departmental and other types of complaints have been resolved. Furthermore, 3,240 complaints regarding the arrest of accused persons, 5,129 complaints related to recoveries, and 3,120 complaints concerning faulty investigations have been resolved. Likewise, 1,580 complaints regarding the cancellation of false cases and 1,063 complaints related to change of investigation have also been disposed of. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem has advised citizens to contact the 1787 Complaint Centre without hesitation in case of any complaint against police officials.
