
Wasim Akram has firmly denied false rumours circulating on social media that claimed he had died after suffering a heart attack. Responding through a video message, the former Pakistan captain reassured fans that he was healthy and criticised the spread of AI-generated misinformation that had caused unnecessary concern among his followers.
Addressing those who believed the fabricated claims, Akram sarcastically responded to people asking whether he was still alive, saying he was clearly recording the video himself. He also questioned why many social media users continue to fall for fake content despite growing awareness about artificial intelligence and digitally manipulated videos.

The cricket legend further criticised the creator of the AI-generated clip, saying considerable effort had been invested in producing the misleading video. He pointed out that the fabricated content also featured fellow former Pakistan cricketers Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar, adding that such creativity should be used for positive and meaningful purposes instead of spreading false information.
Concluding his message, Akram thanked supporters who reached out with concern and reassured everyone by saying, “I am fine, Shukria.” His response quickly gained attention online, helping to put an end to the rumours and reminding users to verify information before sharing sensational claims on social media.

Meanwhile, Akram’s wife, Shaniera Akram, also addressed the false reports by posting a video showing him exercising in a gym. She confirmed that he was in good health and urged people not to believe fake news or AI-generated videos, reinforcing the importance of verifying online content before accepting it as fact.
