Trump renews claim of defeating Iran

Published on: July 7, 2026 4:20 PM

U.S. President Donald Trump again claimed that the United States defeated Iran in the recent conflict and described the American military as the world’s most powerful force. He also said relations with Iran were moving in a better direction despite recent tensions. His remarks came before departing for the NATO summit in Türkiye.

Speaking before his departure, Trump praised the performance of U.S. forces and highlighted their military capabilities. He also commended the American military’s role in Venezuela. However, he did not provide further details about his remarks on either country.

Trump also shared a social media post from the Israel Heritage Foundation and an Israeli minister praising his support for Israel. The post described him as one of Israel’s strongest allies. It also highlighted his role regarding Jerusalem, Iran, and the Abraham Accords.

Meanwhile, Trump departed for Türkiye to attend the two-day NATO summit in Ankara. Speaking to reporters, he described Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a friend and a respected leader. He said he was making the visit because of his relationship with Erdogan.
