Services exports grew by 17.38% in 11 months of FY 2026

The export of various services witnessed a 17.38 per cent increase during the first eleven months of the current fiscal year as compared to the exports of the corresponding period of the last year.

According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan earned $9.097 billion from the export of services during the period from July-May 2025-26, as compared to the export of services of $7.750 billion in July-May 2024-25.

The services’ imports also witnessed an increase of 8.64 per cent during the period under review and were recorded at $11.099 billion as compared to the imports of $10.338 billion in July-May 2024-25.

During the period under review, the services trade deficit contracted by 24.10 per cent, as it was recorded at $2.002 billion compared to $2.638 billion.

On a year-on-year basis, the services trade deficit went down by 118.03 per cent during the month of May 2026 as compared to the exports of the same month of the previous year.

In May 2026, service exports grew by 15.99 per cent and reached $838.28 million as compared to the exports of $722.74 million in May 2025.

Meanwhile, the services imports into the country decreased by 9.41 per cent during the month under review, and it was registered at $807.82 million as compared to the imports of $891.69 million of the same period of the last year.

On a month-on-month basis, the services trade deficit narrowed by 8.63 per cent in the month of May 2026, and it was recorded at $30.46 million as compared to the $33.34 million in the month of April 2026.

The services exports during the month of May 2026 were recorded at $838.28 million, as compared to the exports of $904.09 million in the month of April 2026.

Meanwhile, the services imports into the country decreased by 7.23 per cent during the month under and it was recorded at $807.82 million during the month under review as compared to the imports of $870.75 million during the month of April 2026.
