PAS elects new executive council and office-bearers

KARACHI: Pakistan Advertisers Society (PAS) held its 20th annual general body meeting on Friday, November 24, in Karachi.

The meeting was attended by all major advertisers of Pakistan. Some of the crucial industry issues were discussed and the agenda for 2018 was proposed to the members. The meeting also marked the end of two-year tenure of the current council and the office-bearers. The elections for a new council for the term 2018-19 were also part of the proceedings. The newly elected council comprised of 14 members. Procter & Gamble Pakistan Marketing Director Saqib Zia was elected as chairman of the society; JAZZ Chief Commercial Officer Asif Aziz and Unilever Pakistan Director Marketing, Media & CMi Fariyha Subhani as vice chairman; and The Coca-Cola Company Marketing Director Abbas Arsalan as general secretary. Other representative members on the executive council include: Zeelaf Munir (English Biscuit Manufactures), Fahad Ashraf (Reckitt Benckiser) Haseebur Rahman (Engro Foods), Hassaan Serwani (PEL), Khawaja Zulfiqar Ansari (Tapal Tea), Nauman Khan (Dabur Asian Consumer Care), Usama Qureshi (Hamdard Laboratories), Saad Nissar (TPL Insurance), Samra Maqbool (Nestle Pakistan) and Syed Usman Qaiser (Jubilee Life Insurance ). The meeting was followed by chairman’s dinner that was hosted by Aly Mustansir, outgoing chairman of the society. The event was attended by members of the society, media, agency and other stakeholders from the industry.
