Awami National Party (ANP) has categorically rejected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial budget for fiscal year 2026-27, labelling it a systematic conspiracy designed to push the province toward economic, educational, and administrative disaster.
In a statement issued from Bacha Khan Markaz on Saturday, ANP Provincial President Mian Iftikhar Hussain slammed fiscal plan as mere wordplay and a manipulation of figures.
He criticized ruling government of PTI for continuing to mislead public despite being in power for 13 years, pointing out stark contradictions in numbers. He said that while the government claims a budget deficit of Rs 48 billion, it simultaneously allocated Rs 52.8 billion to non-existent district governments, an act he described as a deliberate attempt to throw dust in eyes of public.
He charged that this is not a genuine development strategy but rather a calculated plan to buy political loyalty of disgruntled assembly members, effectively putting future of entire province at stake for personal interests.
