Two tribal leaders among six shot dead in Balochistan attacks

Six people including two tribal leaders were shot dead in differing gun attacks in Balochistan cities. In the first incident, tribal leader Dad Muhammad Kakar and four others were shot dead in an attack by unidentified gunmen near Nadra Market in Mazayi Adda in Qilla Abdullah on Sunday nihgt.

Two people including President Karachi Hotels Association Syed Jaffer Agha were injured in the attack. Local tribesmen staged a furious protest demonstration by placing the dead bodies on Quetta-Chaman Highway.

In the second incident, another tribal leader was targeted in Dalbandin. According to sources, Rekki tribe elder Malik Abdul Bari

Rekki was killed in an attack by armed persons while another man was injured.

The security personnel shifted the dead body and the injured to Shaikh Fahad bin Sultan Hospital in Chaghi.

PhD scholar killed inside mosque

A PhD student was shot dead inside the masjid in Kundao area of Tehsil Khal in Lower Dir, local police said on Monday.

Police said Ibrahim Khan, a doctoral student was studying inside the mosque the other day when unidentified assailants opened fire him, killing him on the scene.

The motive behind the killing has not yet been determined. Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Ibrahim Khan was pursuing his PhD studies in England and had recently returned to Pakistan to celebrate Eid with his family. Police officials stated that further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
