Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has completed preparations for its “Qurbani Fi Sabeelillah” campaign across 13 organizational regions of the country, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
A central control room established at the Alkhidmat head office is monitoring the nationwide sacrificial operation. Speaking during a visit to the control room, Alkhidmat Secretary General Syed Waqar Jafri said the organization had allocated a budget of Rs1.29 billion for the sacrificial project aimed at supporting orphans, widows, persons with disabilities and other deserving families. He said the target was achieved with the support of Pakistanis, overseas donors and local and international welfare partner organizations.
Under the initiative, Alkhidmat will sacrifice 6,000 cows and 4,000 small animals across the country, with the meat to be distributed among deserving people in a dignified manner. Jafri said Palestinian students studying in Pakistan under Alkhidmat’s support program would also participate in Eid ul Azha activities. Around 300 Palestinian students in Islamabad will take part in sacrificial rituals and a barbecue event, where they will also share Eid celebrations. A separate Eid dinner has also been arranged for 100 Palestinian students studying in Lahore. He paid tribute to Alkhidmat volunteers who would spend their Eid serving deserving communities.
Earlier, Alkhidmat Foundation Vice President Zikar-Ullah Mujahid said modern slaughterhouses had been hired in major cities, including Karachi and Lahore, to ensure hygienic slaughtering and packaging of sacrificial meat.
He added that refrigerated trucks would be used to maintain freshness while transporting meat to remote areas across the country. Alkhidmat CEO Khubaib Bilal, Senior Manager Media Relations Shoaib Hashmi and other officials and volunteers were also present on the occasion.
