According to the advisory, Karachi is expected to receive heavy rain starting from the fourth day of Eid al-Adha, while other cities in Sindh, including Hyderabad, Thatta, and Badin, may experience rainfall accompanied by strong winds on May 30 and 31.
The NDMA further stated that several areas of Punjab, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi, are likely to receive rainfall between May 28 and 31. Authorities have been advised to monitor conditions closely as weather activity may disrupt daily routines, transport, and public services.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and hailstorms have been forecast from May 26 to 31. The advisory specifically highlights northern and mountainous districts such as Chitral, Dir, and Swat, where there is a risk of landslides and road blockages in vulnerable areas.
Meanwhile, local reports from Chitral already indicate disruptions in traffic after a landslide blocked the Boni Road, leaving vehicles stranded for several hours. Passengers, including women, children, and elderly citizens, were reportedly stuck as road clearance efforts had not yet begun.
The NDMA has directed local administrations and rescue agencies across affected regions to stay on high alert and ensure timely response measures in case of emergencies. Authorities have also been instructed to coordinate efforts to reduce risks in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

Officials say the alert aims to minimise potential damage and ensure public safety as the monsoon-related weather system approaches multiple regions of Pakistan.
