Published on: May 20, 2026 9:17 PM

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will see reopening of closed CNG stations after successful negotiations between the federal and provincial governments. Both sides agreed on restoring gas supply following an official meeting. Moreover, the federal government assured provision of 35 MMCFD gas to the province. The decision aims to resolve ongoing fuel supply issues. Authorities confirmed immediate implementation of the agreement.

According to officials, CNG stations in the province will operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Furthermore, the decision was finalized in a high-level meeting involving federal ministers and provincial representatives. Key attendees included Ali Pervaiz Malik and Rana Sanaullah. In addition, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and opposition leaders also participated. Officials described the agreement as a major relief for consumers.

Sources said the decision was taken after reviewing energy supply constraints in the province. Moreover, the federal government approved restoration of gas supply to CNG stations. The provincial finance adviser said the issue was resolved due to the chief minister’s efforts. He added that supply would resume without delay. Authorities confirmed that implementation would begin immediately.

Meanwhile, officials emphasized that gas distribution would be monitored to ensure fair usage. In addition, supply stability remains a key priority for energy authorities. The agreement is expected to reduce transport and fuel shortages in the region. Furthermore, it reflects improved coordination between federal and provincial governments. Consumers are expected to benefit from restored operations.

The focus remains on stabilizing essential supplies across provinces.
