Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong partnership with China during a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday. He met a senior Chinese delegation led by Cai Dafeng. The delegation visited Pakistan to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between both countries. Moreover, Sharif described the relationship as a historic and time-tested strategic partnership based on mutual trust. He also praised China’s continuous support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and regional stability.
During the meeting, Sharif extended greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and the Chinese people. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for China’s core interests and stressed deeper bilateral cooperation. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in Pakistan’s economic growth and development. He said Pakistan would continue advancing the next phase of CPEC projects. These projects will mainly focus on agriculture, information technology, industry, and mining sectors.

Cai Dafeng thanked the Pakistani leadership for the warm reception and praised the longstanding friendship between both countries. He stated that the Chinese leadership remained fully committed to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Pakistan. Moreover, he assured continued Chinese support for Pakistan in different sectors and regional initiatives. Cai also stressed the importance of building a stronger China-Pakistan community with a shared future. He further appreciated Pakistan’s role in supporting regional peace efforts and diplomatic cooperation.

Several senior Pakistani officials attended the high-level meeting alongside the prime minister. Finally, both countries reaffirmed their “ironclad brotherhood” and pledged stronger cooperation for future peace, development, and economic progress.
