At a high-level meeting between Ms Amnah Batool, Member National Assembly and Focal Person, Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) met with the Hon. Shirley Botchwey, Commonwealth Secretary-General at Commonwealth Secretariat, London. Ms. Amnah Batool represented Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to advancing youth empowerment, skills development, and inclusive growth across the Commonwealth.
During the meeting, Ms. Amnah Batool shared an overview of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, highlighting key initiatives in employment, entrepreneurship, education, skills development, and youth empowerment across Pakistan. She also briefed on Pakistan’s progress under the 10th Commonwealth Youth Ministers Meeting (10CYMM) and the Marlborough House Commitments, including youth employment schemes, digital skills development, esports policy, and youth inclusion efforts.
Both sides discussed potential collaboration in digital skills training through integration of the Commonwealth e-learning platform with PMYP’s Digital Youth Hub, support for entrepreneurship and women-led enterprises, development of Pakistan’s esports ecosystem, and capacity building for youth volunteer programmes. They also exchanged views on Commonwealth youth engagement, including upcoming opportunities at the Commonwealth Youth Forum and the Commonwealth Youth Council elections.
The Secretary-General appreciated Pakistan’s active role in youth development within the Commonwealth and welcomed continued collaboration in areas of skills, entrepreneurship, and youth participation. Both sides emphasized their commitment to strengthening cooperation for youth empowerment and inclusive development across the Commonwealth.
