Saudi Arabia announces new Umrah season dates

Published on: May 18, 2026 12:15 PM

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced the key dates for the upcoming Umrah season, outlining the schedule for visa issuance, pilgrim entry, and permit availability through the official Nusuk platform.

According to the ministry, Umrah visas will begin to be issued from May 31, 2026, allowing international pilgrims to start planning their journeys ahead of the new season. The announcement is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to streamline religious tourism and improve services for pilgrims.

The ministry further stated that entry of Umrah pilgrims into Makkah will be permitted from 15 Dhul Hijjah 1448 AH. This marks the official opening phase of the new Umrah season following the completion of the Hajj period.

In addition, Umrah permits through the Nusuk app will become available starting June 1, 2026. The digital platform is being used to manage bookings, regulate crowd flow, and ensure smoother access to the holy sites.

Saudi authorities have also outlined important deadlines for the season. The last date for issuing Umrah visas has been set as March 9, 2027 (1st Shawaal 1448 AH), while the final date for pilgrims to enter the Kingdom is March 23, 2027 (15 Shawaal 1448 AH).

The ministry added that the last departure date for pilgrims from Saudi Arabia will be April 7, 2027 (30 Shawaal 1448 AH), after which the Umrah season will officially conclude.

Officials have urged pilgrims to complete all travel documentation and registration procedures well in advance to avoid delays or complications during their journey.

They emphasized that the new schedule reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to enhance the Umrah experience through improved organization, digital services, and crowd management systems.

The announcement is expected to help travel operators and pilgrims worldwide plan ahead for one of the most significant religious journeys for Muslims.
