The Sindh High Court has sought a clear timeline for Karachi University Road completion, highlighting growing public concerns. The court directed the Advocate General Sindh to provide a detailed जवाब at the next hearing. This move reflects increasing pressure to address delays affecting daily commuters.
During the hearing, the court reviewed a petition against the sealing of the BRT Red Line Lot Two office. The petitioner’s lawyer argued that multiple contractors were operating on-site without clarity. He questioned the transparency of contracts and raised concerns about mismanagement.
In response, the Advocate General stated that a new contractor would take over after the notice period ends. He added that current work on Lot Two focuses on drainage and road restoration. However, conflicting claims from officials and media reports added confusion to the situation.

Moreover, Justice Nisar Ahmed Bhanbhro expressed concern over the slow progress. He noted that University Road is a major artery of the city. He stressed that such delays would not be tolerated elsewhere and suggested forming a commission to investigate the causes.
Earlier, officials stated that the BRT Red Line project may complete by 2028. The court, however, demanded accountability and clarity on delays. It adjourned the hearing until May 4 and reiterated the need for a firm timeline for Karachi University Road completion.
