‘Apna Khet Apna Rozgar’ to benefit 88,000 families, says Azma

Published on: April 28, 2026 2:16 AM

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, has said that the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” initiative is a game-changing project for landless farmers and a major step toward strengthening Punjab’s agriculture and economy. Under this scheme, land will be provided to landless individuals on a 10-year lease, benefiting around 88,000 families.

She stated that multiple initiatives have been launched under the leadership of the Chief Minister Punjab to create employment opportunities and reinforce the province’s economy and agricultural sector. She added that the current government has taken exemplary steps across various sectors, with “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” emerging as a flagship program aimed at converting barren land into cultivable farmland.

Azma Bokhari further highlighted that Punjab has recorded wheat production exceeding its set targets, demonstrating the effectiveness of government agricultural policies.

The Minister informed that over 900 applications have already been received for land leasing. Farmers are being provided land worth Rs 2.5 million to Rs 4 million, ranging from one to five acres in different areas. Additionally, a one-time grant of Rs 50,000 will also be provided.

She emphasized that initiatives such as the “Kisan Card” and Green Tractor Scheme are playing a vital role in promoting agricultural development.

Speaking about the Film City project, she said that 50 acres of land have already been allocated. The project will include modern studios and post-production facilities, enabling Pakistani filmmakers to avoid costly foreign travel for production and editing needs.

She added that record wheat production and a strong mango crop further reflect the success of government policies. Programs such as the “Himmat Card”, “Dhee Rani Program”, Kisan Card, and Green Tractor Scheme demonstrate that the Chief Minister’s initiatives are not merely slogans but are delivering tangible results.

At the conclusion of the press conference, while addressing the political situation and public activities, Azma Bokhari stated that granting permission for public gatherings is the responsibility of the district administration. Referring to the Pakistan Super League, she appreciated the enthusiasm of fans and stressed the need for positive recreational activities instead of disruptive slogans.

She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that all rights and facilities are delivered to the people of Punjab at their doorstep.
