Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has announced that, under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government has formally launched the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” scheme following the successful rollout of “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” and the distribution of free plots to homeless citizens.
She said the flagship initiative will not only create new employment opportunities but will also pave the way for a genuine agricultural revolution in the province.
Sharing details of the scheme, Azma Bokhari stated that land worth Rs160 billion is being allocated to landless rural residents across Punjab. She clarified that the land will be strictly used for agricultural purposes to boost crop production. In addition, the Punjab government will provide financial grants ranging from Rs50,000 to Rs250,000 to farmers, enabling thousands to benefit directly.
The provincial minister praised the leadership of Maryam Nawaz, stating that the Chief Minister believes in practical performance rather than mere claims. “Many seasonal sympathizers of farmers have come and gone, but Maryam Nawaz has proven herself to be a truly farmer-friendly and agriculture-oriented leader,” she said, adding that farmers’ prosperity remains at the top of her priorities.
Azma Bokhari further highlighted that initiatives such as the Kissan Card, Green Tractor scheme, Super Seeder provision, and solarization of tubewells have already contributed to record wheat production in Punjab. She added that the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” programme is another key step toward strengthening the rural economy and empowering landless farmers across the province.
