A petition has been filed on Monday to stop the upcoming Senate by-elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the Election Commission has scheduled a hearing on the matter. As per details, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Jalal Khan submitted a petition to the Election Commission seeking to halt the Senate by-elections in the province. In response, the Election Commission has fixed the petition for hearing. Sources say the Election Commission will hear the case today (Tuesday). The petition states that constitutional ambiguity regarding the Senate seat should be resolved before conducting the election. It is worth mentioning that the Election Commission had already announced the by-election schedule for April 23 following the disqualification of Murad Saeed.
