A new petition has been filed in the Islamabad High Court seeking an urgent decision on Bushra Bibi’s sentence suspension request in the 190 million pound case. The move comes after her reported eye surgery and ongoing medical concerns raised by her legal team.
The application was submitted by Barrister Salman Safdar, who argued that the case has been pending since May 2025. He requested the court to expedite proceedings due to what he described as a medical emergency situation. The plea also seeks immediate access for family and lawyers.

According to the petition, Bushra Bibi recently underwent eye surgery at a private hospital in Rawalpindi. It claims that her family was not informed in advance about the procedure. The lawyers argued that such information is legally required for transparency and safety.
The petition further states that family members were only informed after the surgery had taken place. It also alleges that her medical condition may be serious and that full medical details have not been provided by jail authorities or doctors. The lawyers expressed concern over her treatment in custody.
