SEOUL: Jisoo of global K-pop group BLACKPINK is facing online backlash following reports linking her brother to an ongoing criminal investigation in South Korea.

Authorities at Gangnam Police Station confirmed that a man in his 30s, identified only as “Mr A,” has been arrested on charges related to alleged forced molestation. While officials have not publicly disclosed the suspect’s identity, speculation on social media has connected the case to Jisoo’s family, intensifying public scrutiny.
According to reports, the case involves a female livestreamer who allegedly met the suspect through a “date ticket” arrangement, a system in which top online donors can arrange in-person meetings. The suspect is said to have paid around ₩3 million for the encounter.
The streamer claimed that the situation escalated after a meal and drinks, alleging that the man forced physical contact despite repeated refusals and attempted sexual assault. Police reportedly responded to the scene and carried out the arrest. Additional claims, including alleged drunk driving, have surfaced online but remain unverified.
The controversy has grown after a local media outlet reportedly published an image resembling Jisoo and her brother, fuelling further speculation. Online discussions have also referenced past unverified allegations involving the same individual.
Attention has now shifted to Jisoo’s reported professional association with her brother through her label Blissoo, where he is believed to have a founding role. Some fans have called for clarification regarding this connection.

As of now, Jisoo has not issued any public statement. Authorities have emphasised that the investigation is ongoing, and no official confirmation has been made regarding the suspect’s identity.
