Talha Anjum tops Spotify Pakistan list

Spotify has released its five-year streaming data for Pakistan, highlighting the most popular Pakistani artists and tracks since the platform launched in the country in 2021. The report shows strong growth in local music consumption and a rising trend of diverse listening habits among users. The data reflects how Pakistani audiences are increasingly shaping music discovery on the platform.

According to Spotify, listeners in Pakistan have created more than 15 million user-generated playlists over the past five years. The platform also noted that the average user streams over 140 different artists annually, indicating a strong shift toward music exploration and variety. This trend highlights the growing engagement of audiences with both mainstream and emerging artists.

Spotify said Pakistani music consumption has grown significantly, with total streams of local artists increasing more than sevenfold since 2021. The platform also reported a 75 percent rise in the number of Pakistani artists available, showing expanding opportunities for creators. It added that listeners are engaging with genres ranging from hip hop to qawwali and pop.

The platform revealed its list of most-streamed Pakistani artists in the last five years, with Talha Anjum ranking at number one. He is followed by Atif Aslam, Umair, Hasan Raheem, and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, reflecting a mix of contemporary and classic talent. The list highlights the strong presence of both new-age and legendary musicians.

Spotify also shared the most-streamed Pakistani tracks, including hits like Jhol, Pal Pal, Wishes, Bikhra, and Maand. The platform said curated playlists such as “Pakka Hit Hai” and “ICON Pakistan” have played a key role in promoting local music. It added that Pakistan’s music scene continues to evolve with growing global reach.
