Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum has remained the country’s most-streamed artist on Spotify for the second year in a row. The streaming service confirmed 370 million streams for the rapper during its annual Spotify Wrapped event. Talha thanked fans and his team for supporting him through every challenge.
In an Instagram post, Anjum said retaining the top position did not surprise him. He credited hard work, loyal fans, and his team for his continued success. He also celebrated his latest album, My Terrible Mind, which gained 84 million streams, with his song ‘Departure Lane’ alone racking up 46 million streams from 7.5 million listeners.

The rapper also addressed his critics directly. He called out the media and industry figures who allegedly tried to “pull him down” with boycotts, legal notices, false news, and negative narratives. Despite these challenges, he said Urdu rap remains strong and popular, exactly where it was last year.

The year also brought controversy. At a Kathmandu concert, a fan gave him an Indian flag, which he draped over his shoulders. While Anjum said it was a gesture of respect, many Pakistani fans criticized the act amid tense Pakistan-India relations. He later issued an unconditional apology on television after the backlash.

Ending his note for critics, Anjum told haters to “pray hard and work harder”, promising to remain at the top next year. His achievements highlight the growing influence of Urdu rap and modern music culture in Pakistan and beyond.
