
The Punjab Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution recommending the Nobel Peace Prize for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir. The resolution credits their role in promoting peace efforts amid rising tensions in the Middle East. It reflects political endorsement of Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement on the global stage.
The resolution was presented by Punjab Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman during a session in Lahore. It praised Pakistan’s leadership for what it described as an effective diplomatic role in supporting ceasefire efforts between the United States and Iran. Lawmakers said the initiative helped reduce regional tensions.

It also acknowledged senior political figures, including Nawaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and other stakeholders.
