
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday hosted a high-level United States delegation led by Vice President JD Vance in Islamabad ahead of the scheduled “Islamabad Talks” with Iran.

The visiting US delegation also included Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner, both of whom are part of the diplomatic team engaged in discussions with Iranian representatives later in the day.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The discussions focused on regional stability, diplomatic engagement, and the importance of constructive dialogue between all parties.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the US delegation and appreciated Washington’s commitment to participating in talks aimed at reducing tensions in the region. He expressed hope that the negotiations would serve as a stepping stone toward durable peace.
The prime minister also reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to continue facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran, emphasizing that sustained diplomatic engagement is essential for long-term stability in the Middle East.
