During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The discussions focused on regional stability, diplomatic engagement, and the importance of constructive dialogue between all parties.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the US delegation and appreciated Washington’s commitment to participating in talks aimed at reducing tensions in the region. He expressed hope that the negotiations would serve as a stepping stone toward durable peace.

The prime minister also reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to continue facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran, emphasizing that sustained diplomatic engagement is essential for long-term stability in the Middle East.

The visit comes at a sensitive time as both delegations prepare for high-level discussions in Islamabad, which are expected to address key issues including security concerns, regional tensions, and potential pathways toward de-escalation.

Officials describe the Islamabad Talks as an important diplomatic opportunity, with Pakistan playing a central role in hosting and supporting the negotiations.
