In a statement issued on Wednesday, the spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office denounced what it described as Israeli aggression, saying the attacks have resulted in the loss of innocent lives and widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure. The spokesperson urged the international community to take concrete steps to bring an immediate end to the hostilities.

Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with Lebanon, emphasizing its support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The statement further stressed that such military actions pose a serious threat to ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring stability in the region.

Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres also condemned the large-scale strikes across Lebanon. In his remarks, he called on all parties involved to immediately halt military operations and exercise maximum restraint.

Guterres warned that continued escalation could jeopardize ceasefire efforts and hinder the pursuit of a sustainable and comprehensive peace in the region. He noted that hundreds of civilians, including children, have reportedly been killed or injured, while critical infrastructure has suffered significant damage.

According to reports, the strikes came shortly after a ceasefire agreement between United States and Iran. However, the agreement did not extend to Lebanon, with officials clarifying that the truce was limited in scope.

The intensity of the attacks has raised alarm globally, with reports indicating over 250 fatalities and more than 1,100 injuries. Observers warn that the situation could further destabilize the region if urgent diplomatic measures are not taken.
